E’ la frase che incontrerò più sovente durante questa visita alla città di Boston : da qui partirono le grandi rivoluzioni che cambiarono la vita di milioni di persone. Dalla rivoluzione che trasformò il Massachusetts da colonia a membro del Commonwealth britannico e fu il seme che generò gli Stati Uniti d’America fino alla recentissima rivoluzione operata da Mark Zuckerberg, il nerd che con la finestra azzurra di Facebook, cambiò il modo di far comunicazione.
Fucina di rivoluzioni epocali, la città si presenta, tuttavia, rilassata, elegante e raffinata.
Giungendo dall’aereoporto, dopo il tunnel sotto la zona del porto, si ha l’impressione di attraversare il quartiere residenziale di una città inglese. Case di mattoni rossi con giardini curati e pieni di fiori, viali e parchi come nella miglior tradizione britannica dimostrano come i bostoniani abbiano saputo affrancarsi dal dominio i Sua Maestà ma ne abbiano conservato gli aspetti positivi.
Non ero mai stata a Boston prima d’ora, ma la metropoli mi ha conquistato in pochi giorni. La cortesia degli abitanti è sorprendente. Ogni volta che mi fermavo per consultare la cartina, ho trovato qualcuno che si è offerto di fornire spiegazioni o, addirittura, di accompagnarci. E, quasi sempre, dopo aver saputo che eravamo italiani, ci dicevano di essere venuti in Itailia e di essere innamorati della nostra arte.
Con orgoglio, facevano poi notare di essere la città americana con il più alto numero di università, non solo Harward e il
Mit, ma un numero impressionante di altri centri di cultura e di ricerca. Al nostro arrivo in Hotel ci aspettava una grossa busta che Stacy Shreffler del Greater Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau aveva fatto recapitare su
interessamento di Annalisa di Thema s.r.l. amica milanese di Nati con la Valigia.
Sono grata ad entrambe per avermi fornito tutto quanto serviva per farmi conoscere ed amare Boston. In questa occasione, il City Pass si è rivelato un compagno di viaggio prezioso. Anche per me, tutto ebbe inizio qui.

It ‘s the phrase that meet more often during this visit to the city of Boston, hence left the great revolutions that changed the lives of millions of people. From the revolution that transformed the Massachusetts colony as a member of the British Commonwealth and was the seed that gave birth to the United States of America until the recent revolution carried out by Mark Zuckerberg, the nerd with the blue window on Facebook, changed the way of communication to .
Forge epochal revolutions, the city is, however, relaxed, elegant and refined.
Coming from the airport, after the tunnel under the harbor area, one gets the impression of crossing the residential area of a British city. Red brick houses with manicured gardens full of flowers, boulevards and parks as in the best British tradition show that Bostonians have been able to free themselves from the domination of the His Majesty but have retained the positive aspects.
I had never been to Boston before, but the city has won me over in a few days. The friendliness of the people is amazing. Every time I stopped to look at the map, I found someone who offered to explain or even to accompany us. And, almost always, after learning that we were Italians, they told us that they had come in Itailia and being in love with our art.
With pride, then made out to be the American city with the highest number of universities, not just Harvard and
Mit, but an impressive number of other centers of learning and research. Upon our arrival at the hotel waiting for us a large envelope that Stacy Shreffler of the Greater Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau had delivered on
interest of, a friend in Milan Born with the case.
I am grateful to both for providing me with all that was needed for me to know and love Boston. Also on this occasion, the City Pass proved to be a valuable travel companion.
