Il tempo risparmiato evitando le solite imponenti code all’ingresso dei Musei permette una “caccia al tesoro” nel Parco, alla ricerca di angoli immortalati nei film che qui sono stati girati.
Al termine di una giornata così intensa, cosa ci vuole è una buona cena. Sappiamo che David Ranucci, proprietario di alcuni tra i migliori ristoranti romani di Milano, ha recentemente aperto nel West Village il “Quinto Quarto”
con l’intenzione di rinforzare sempre più l’eccellente reputazione di cui gode la cucina italiana a NYC. Vogliamo offrire alla nostra amica del Waldorf una cena “tricolore” e telefoniamo a Matteo, cognato del signor Ranucci, che
all’arrivo ci accoglie con calore italiano e offre al gruppo un excursus gastronomico attraverso il meglio di casa
nostra. Fa piacere scoprire come da ingredienti semplici come pasta, formaggio e verdure i cuochi abbiano saputo creare dei piatti da veri artisti. La serata scorre in modo molto piacevole : l’atmosfera del locale è giovane e scanzonata, il cibo ottimo così come il vino. Il tris di pasta, che culmina con i bucatini cacio e pepe, riscuote particolare successo
e la nostra giovane manager assicura che tornerà con amici. Per chi fosse interessato a gustare un francobollo d’Italia nel cuore del village, il Quinto Quarto si trova al n. 14 di Bedford Street tra deliziose file di vecchie case bohemiennes. Molti attori ed artisti famosi hanno scelto di abitare nel Village e, proprio in Bedford Street al n. 75 in quella che è la casa più stretta di New York , vissero prima l’attore John Barrymore e più tardi Cary Grant. Quando venite a New York , non perdetevi una cena al Quinto Quarto e una visita ai vicini locali dove si suona il jazz.Vi sentirete veramente a New York!
